At First United Methodist Church Franklin, we believe everything belongs to God. We are called to faithfully manage all of God's gifts.

"The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it." (Psalm 24:1–2)

Giving is discipleship in action

Growing disciples become generous givers.

He looked up and saw rich people putting their gifts into the treasury; he also saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins. He said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them, for all of them have contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in all she had to live on.”

(Luke 21:1-4)

We give because the church is the Body of Christ, empowered to do Christ’s work in the world.

We give because God first gave to us.

Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. & Now there are varieties of gifts but the same Spirit, and there are varieties of services but the same Lord, and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone.

(I Corinthians 12:27 & I Corinthians 12:4-6)

We give first with our hearts, then with our lives, then with our resources.

We strive for faithful, proportional and joyful giving.

Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

(Hebrews 13:16)

Every gift becomes ministry. Every dollar becomes hope.

Together we are Here for Good—Rooted in Franklin. Grounded in Love.

"Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."

(Matthew 25:35–40)
